How effectively have you managed your time?
I would say my time has been managed effectively. I have allocated my different goals so that I complete each in the necessary area (printing/reviews/crafting at school Vs drawing/sketching/reference collecting/reflecting at home Vs museum visits at times I can get transport/peers are free to go)
Have you attended studio taught sessions and assessment on time?
I have not been to every session, however, the ones I have missed have been calculated to be most efficient in terms of work due to my very long commute, and I make sure to get all necessary feedback and collaboration beforehand. I also make sure to check on what is happening and catch up if I’m unavoidably late from the intense roadworks. I’ve been to every active session and assessment on time however.
What impact do you think being late and or missing appointments might have on staff and your peers?
Knowing my own very tight schedule, I know that they also will have blocked in very specific time slots and times to talk to me and I value outside contribution a lot. Also, knowing how annoyed I get when people don’t seem to value the effort I make to plan something, I hate putting others through that- punctuality is something I try hard to get right.
Have you treated staff and tutors with the respect you should have and what are the implications of your actions towards them?
I have respected staff and tutors, I think early in the course Gareth took my pushing to understand advice fully more confrontationally than I intended, but I think over time I’ve become better at getting myself across/ we understand better how to best help each other because his advice is invaluable.
Have you been proactive enough to seek guidance and help while being organised?
I think I’ve been very proactive- to the extent that my friends joke that I bug Gareth, and I only really ask about subjective subjects rather than skills I could learn on my own so I think in the practical regard I’m self sufficient. Sometimes I do ask things that seem too broad and as if I’m asking for answers to things that are my own job to answer like artists to look at or different things to try but it’s more to see different perspectives to broaden my understanding than to actually fully follow them. Multi-disciplinarity is something Im trying to bring back into Unit 4 from Unit 1.
